I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not good at highlighting and contouring, and I don’t even attempt it. I use bronzer to add a little more shape and shadow to my face, but that’s pretty much it!
So I was a little intimidated this month when the new May 2016 Kudos was announced: a Sculpting Trio for highlighting and contouring, with a free brush. I don’t know how to do that! But as always, I started looking into it, watching videos and demos of the products, and it looks surprisingly easy. Everything is in the trio palette and the brush is totally free and it’s made to use with it. You can find more information about it, including how-to videos and shade selection, right here.
The Sculpting Trio includes a Contour Cream, Highlight Powder, and 3D Cream. They’re each loaded with nourishing ingredients like sunflower seed oil and vitamin E, and free of parabens so you can feel good about what you’re putting on your skin. Choose from palettes in Light, Medium, or Dark based on your skin tone or by your shade of Touch Mineral Foundation: Use LIGHT if your shade of foundation is Scarlet, Organza, Velour, or Taffeta; use MEDIUM if your shade of foundation is Chiffon, Satin, or Cashmere; use DARK if your shade of foundation is Velvet, Charmeuse, or Cypress.
- Cleanse, moisturize, and prime your skin for makeup
- Apply liquid or cream foundation as a base
- Use the angled end of the Contour Brush to apply Cream Contour
- Highlight with the Highlight Powder using the paddle end of the Contour Brush
- Apply 3D Cream with fingers for a sassy, shimmering highlight
I’ve already ordered mine and I can’t wait for it to arrive so I can try it out and show you my results! You can order it here.
The palettes are back-ordered until June 3, but don’t wait until June to order, because you can only get the brush for FREE by ordering the palette during May. In June, you’ll have to pay full price! They’re filling orders in the order they were received, so the sooner you order, the sooner you’ll get your palette and FREE brush.
